DESI completes its 3D map — hints that dark energy is evolving strengthen

In April 2026 the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) completed its planned five-year survey — the largest high-resolution 3D map of the universe to date, covering more than 47 million galaxies and quasars. Combined with the cosmic microwave background, Type Ia supernovae, and weak lensing, the data strengthen earlier hints that the influence of dark energy may be weakening over cosmic time rather than behaving as a fixed cosmological constant, and the collaboration has said the standard model may need modifying.

This is the observational question the STF framework’s cosmology speaks to directly. The framework treats dark energy as a dynamical, scalar-field-driven sector rather than a pure cosmological constant — see the Dark Energy and Phantom Problem papers. A time-varying dark-energy history is exactly the kind of signature this work engages.

The evidence remains preliminary and genuinely contested: some 2026 analyses argue the evolving-dark-energy signal in DESI’s second data release is absent, attributing the apparent effect to an inconsistency between the BAO and supernova datasets. DESI’s first dark-energy results from the full five-year survey are expected in 2027.

An open, unresolved observational debate that bears directly on the STF framework’s dynamical dark-energy sector — the question it addresses, not a confirmation of it.

Precision distance-ladder measurements keep the Hubble tension robust
External Finding Cosmology — Hubble Tension

Through 2025 and into 2026, improved local measurements of the cosmic expansion rate have kept the “Hubble tension” robust rather than dissolving it. Distance-ladder determinations combining JWST and Hubble across multiple independent calibrators — Cepheids, red giants, and carbon stars — continue to land near 73 km/s/Mpc (an April 2026 measurement reported a value close to 73.5 at under 1% uncertainty), well above the roughly 67 km/s/Mpc inferred from the early universe. Not every group agrees: a team led by Wendy Freedman argues that certain JWST calibrations bring the local value down toward 70, easing the tension.

Amino acids in asteroid Bennu may have formed in space — consistent with STF’s account of life
External Finding Biology & General Theory

Penn State researchers reported in February 2026 that glycine — an amino acid found in samples of the asteroid Bennu returned by NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission — could have formed in an icy, radiation-rich environment at the dawn of the solar system, supporting the view that some of life’s fundamental building blocks were synthesized abiotically in space and later delivered to the early Earth.

This extends the same line as the Ryugu nucleobase finding reported here earlier. The STF Biology paper’s position is that the mere presence of life’s chemical building blocks is not the discriminator for life — those precursors are expected to be common and abiotic. What the framework identifies as the real threshold is causal-loop activation. Findings that life’s ingredients form readily in space are therefore consistent with the framework, and sharpen the origin-of-life question toward the loop-closure condition rather than the availability of chemistry.

Independent empirical support for a premise the STF biology account builds on — that life’s chemical precursors are widespread and abiotic — shifting the open question to causal-loop activation.

An independent time-symmetric quantum interpretation mirrors the STF retarded–advanced structure
External Finding Theory of Time & Retrocausality

A time-symmetric interpretation of quantum mechanics — the Quantum Time-Symmetric (or “Tlalpan”) Interpretation, posted to arXiv in 2025 — describes isolated quantum systems with a two-component temporal state carrying both forward- and backward-propagating amplitudes. Their mixing defines a retrocausal coherence time beyond which the backward (advanced) component is suppressed; as a system couples to an amplifying environment, that backward component is dynamically eliminated, producing ordinary forward causality and effective wavefunction collapse. Below a threshold, retrocausal influences are physical but cannot send signals; above it, only forward causality survives.

Developed independently, this picture converges closely on the structure of the STF framework, which is built on retarded and advanced contributions meeting on the complexified null cone (Null Cone), a threshold above which the advanced channel is switched off, and an arrow of time that is emergent rather than fundamental (Theory of Time). That a separate quantum-foundations programme arrives at the same retarded–advanced, threshold-gated, emergent-arrow architecture is a notable independent convergence.

Ryugu asteroid contains all five DNA/RNA nucleobases — consistent with STF’s account of life
External Finding Biology & General Theory

A study published today in Nature Astronomy reports that samples from the asteroid Ryugu — collected by JAXA’s Hayabusa 2 mission in controlled conditions and returned to Earth in 2020 — contain all five nucleobases: adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine, and uracil. The complete building blocks of DNA and RNA, in roughly balanced purine/pyrimidine proportions. Ryugu is pristine 4.6-billion-year-old material, uncontaminated by Earth chemistry, making it the cleanest possible window into early solar system chemistry. Previous samples — Murchison (1969), Orgueil (1864), Bennu — were skewed toward one nucleobase type; Ryugu shows the full set in balance.

This finding is relevant to the STF framework’s position on life in a specific way. The Retrocausality & Life paper and the General Theory argue that life is a structural feature of the universe rather than a local accident — that wherever the physical substrate and the causal loop activation condition are met, instantiation occurs. The standard objection has always been that life requires such specific chemistry that it could only have arisen under Earth’s particular early conditions. The Ryugu finding directly weakens this objection. If the complete nucleobase alphabet appears in balanced proportions in pristine pre-planetary material, the chemical substrate for life is a default output of solar system formation, not a rare coincidence.

This narrows the question of life’s origin to the causal loop activation condition — precisely what the STF biology paper addresses. The finding does not confirm the STF mechanism. It removes one of the most natural objections to the General Theory’s claim that life is structurally favored rather than cosmically improbable.

First Principles V7.5 — UHECR Independence Established
Paper Update Theory

Major structural revision to the backbone paper. The derivation of T = 3.32 years and ms = 3.94 × 10−23 eV now rests entirely on GR + quantum mechanics + measured fundamental constants + Mc from 10D structure. No UHECR data, no GRB correlation, no observational input of any kind. The three-convergent-paths structure removed; replaced with a concise derivation summary. The 50π coefficient (5 × 10 × π) explicitly derived from the compactification geometry. The independence of the Mc and ms derivation chains proved — no circularity.

Propagator Bridge Established — Null Cone V0.9 / First Principles V7.5

The final step of the propagator bridge is now proved. The Pole Location Lemma — established via explicit Hopf coordinates — shows that the causal support condition y ≺ x forces the null direction [α] into V+, placing the pole inside the contour with residue +1, giving [ΨR]| = [ωR]. The complete chain y ≺ x ⇒ 4π² is established. The 4π² threshold normalization — previously a topological input — is now connected to the field equation's own propagator structure from two sides.
